Hello! I am Dorrine Nasri, from Tunisia.
A trained architect, I started painting at the age of 12. As a child, I would reproduce the illustrations of the tales to avoid reading them, then I imagined the story from these images.
Specializing in figurative and abstract painting, I am inspired by imaginary characters drawn from films or novels, photographs like those of Helmut Newton, or painters like Tamara De Lampika.
My paintings advocate a certain feminism, not fierce. Subtle but easily detectable messages evoke frontally the condition of the woman: the pressure she suffers, social, parental, family, conjugal… her daily life which often rhymes with «resistance».
